Privacy Policy — The Great Youdini
Last updated: August 18, 2026
The Great Youdini, operated by Jane Oka Kaya (“we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through thegreatyoudini.com, our contact and booking forms, and our related services, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you contact us, book a reading or coaching session, join our email list, or otherwise communicate with us, you may provide your name, email address, contact details, appointment preferences, messages, and information relevant to the service you request. For a personal or relationship reading, this may include birth dates, birth times, and birth locations for you and, where applicable, another person. Please provide another person’s information only if you have their permission to do so. You may also choose to share personal experiences or questions during an inquiry or session. Please share only information you feel comfortable providing.
Booking and transaction information. When you schedule or purchase a service, we may receive appointment details, purchase amounts, payment status, and related records. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor; we do not retain full card numbers.
Website information. Our website and service providers may collect technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, and approximate location derived from an IP address. Cookies or similar technologies may help the site function and, if enabled, measure site traffic or support other features. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; arrange, prepare for, and provide readings and coaching; process payments, refunds, and appointment changes; send booking confirmations and service-related messages; send teachings, reflections, and offerings if you have opted in; maintain and improve our website and services; keep appropriate business records; and comply with applicable legal obligations or protect against misuse.
We do not add you to our marketing email list solely because you send an inquiry or book a session. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary communications about an existing booking.
Birth information and personal disclosures
Birth details you provide for a reading are used to prepare and deliver that reading and for related client communications and records. Relationship readings may involve information about another person; you are responsible for ensuring you are authorized to provide those details. Information you discuss in a session will not be used as a public testimonial, case study, or social media post without your permission. Neither of us may record a session without the other’s prior express consent.
When information is shared
We may share information with providers that help us operate the website and deliver services, such as Squarespace, Acuity Scheduling, Square, Zoom. They receive information needed for their services and handle it under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a business transition.
We do not sell client birth details or private session disclosures.
Cookies and analytics
Our site may use cookies and similar technologies required for operation and, if enabled, tools that help us understand website traffic. Embedded videos or social content may also collect information under the provider’s own privacy policy when you interact with them. You can manage cookies through your browser. Disabling some cookies may affect site features.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, and satisfy applicable legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please avoid sending payment card numbers or other highly sensitive information through the general contact form.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for legal, accounting, or legitimate business reasons. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any such email or contact us. Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to our business, you may have additional rights; we will honor those rights where applicable.
Third-party sites and services
Our website may link to social platforms, video services, and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review those policies before sharing information with them.
Children
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or privacy practices change. We will post the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date above. If changes materially affect how we handle information already collected, we will provide any additional notice required by law.
